All of Les Walker’s books are educational and personal. American Shelter was originally developed as a guide for his students, Tiny Houses resulted from his travels, and his children’s books developed out of time spent with his two growing sons.
American Shelter: As a teacher, Les found that there was a need for a book that introduced the many architectural styles, methods and artistic movements to his students. His publisher felt that there might be a wider market, thus his book, American Shelter, an illustrated encyclopedia of American housing styles. This book has sold over 100,000 copies.
