Brooklyn Early Learning Facility: The Brooklyn Early Learning Facility, funded by New York State, was designed as a school to accommodate 100 pre-schoolers in a low-income area. The design took advantage of the opportunity to illustrate to children how a building functions by color coding the structure, mechanical equipment, and even the electrical wiring to make the most complicated parts of the building easy to understand. This design won a Progressive Architecture Design Citation for Walker’s NYC office, Studio Works.
